The 155mm LU 211 HE shell provides a long range fire capability. It can be equipped with a hollow base or a Base Bleed. It can engage targets at a range of 30km with NATO standard 155mm/39 caliber guns (M109, M198…) and up to 40km with 155mm/52 caliber guns (CAESAR®, PzH 2000…) meeting the requirements of JB MoU and NABK standards when equipped with a Base-Bleed unit. The terminal efficiency of the 155mm LU 211 is more than twice that conventional M107 155mm shells, irrespective of angle of impact or burst height. In addition, its piercing/penetration capability gives an excellent performance when used as an anti-structure ammunition. The 155mm LU 211 shell can be filled with High Explosive like TNT, compo B and EIDS® XF® 13 333 explosive composition for the insensitive version called LU 211 IM. This version is fully IM compliant with the STANAG 4439.
